Peran Badan Permusyawaratan Desa (BPD) dalam Pembangunan Desa di Indonesia

The Village Consultative Body or BPD is an institution that carries out the functions of the village government whose members are representatives of the villagers who are democratically determined. the existence of this village institution is a partner of the village head as the village leader to regulate the operation of the village government. the role of the Village Consultative Body is to accommodate the aspirations of the community. maintain the stability of the village government and oversee the performance of the village head. The purpose of the research is to find out the extent of the role of the Village Consultative Body on the implementation of development in rural villages in Indonesia, as well as what are the obstacles faced by the village legislative body in carrying out its duties and functions as an accommodating body for the aspirations of the village community. By using the literature research method or literature review referring to several scientific articles, and journals on the role of the Village Consultative Body. Based on the results of the research, in general, the participation of the Village Consultative Body in village development in Indonesia has not run optimally due to the lack of resources owned by members of the Village Consultative Body, this is also one of the obstacles faced by the BPD in carrying out its duties and functions.
